Lakeshore’s Sports Science and Performance Center (SSPC) Athlete Services Scholarships are created for the sole purpose of breaking down barriers to high-performance assessment and training for athletes with a disability. SSPC is a game-changing, one-of-a-kind inclusive destination where high-performing athletes gain access to cutting-edge science, advanced performance testing, data-driven insights, sports psychology, and tailored sports nutrition.
Whether aiming for a spot in the top 1% to make the roster for LA28, or striving for peak performance in daily life, SSPC utilizes science and data to prove there are no limits to what athletes with disabilities can achieve.
The goal of these scholarships is to expand our reach and increase access for disabled athletes to fulfill the mission of Lakeshore Foundation, which is to provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to live a healthy lifestyle through physical activity, research, advocacy and health promotion. All are welcome to apply provided you meet the criteria stated below.
Scholarships* available:
- Residency: The Residency scholarship includes travel to Lakeshore Foundation, on-site accommodations during the length of your stay, an athlete assessment package, consultation with our program experts and 6 months of virtual programming. At an estimated amount of up to $10,000.
- Champion: The Champion scholarship includes an athlete assessment package, consultation with our program experts and 6 months of virtual or in-house programming. At an estimated amount of up to $7,000
- All-Star: The All-Star scholarship includes an athlete assessment package with a detailed analysis of the athlete’s results. At an estimated amount of $1,000
*All scholarships are given as professional services or travel expenses. There is no monetary compensation.
General Requirements and Eligibility:
- Athletes applying for a residency scholarship must reside in the United States.
- Individuals must be a current athlete training for or competing in a sporting event.
- Individuals must have a disability that meets the USOPC’s eligibility classifications.
- Individuals must be 14 years old or older.
Evaluation Criteria:
Type of disability, current athlete status, detailed goal(s) for specific event(s), and contact information. A reference letter is recommended.
To Apply:
Please complete the attached application form by clicking the button below. A detailed response to all questions must be received for an athlete to be considered for the scholarship. Athletes must agree to image and story use for SSPC marketing purposes. The deadline to apply is September 30, 2026.
Review Period and Notification:
Applications will be reviewed monthly, and scholarships will be awarded quarterly. Athletes will receive notification of the status of their award at the end of each quarter.
