- Family Fun Night (September 25): Family Fun nights are designed for the whole family to participate together in a variety of games and activities that encourage movement. - Shred-A-Muk (September 25-27): Join Catalyst Sports, Lakeshore and BUMP at Tannehill State Park for a weekend of dirt, determination, and community at Shred-a-Muk — an adaptive mountain biking gathering designed to build skills, confidence and connection. Whether it’s your first time on an adaptive mountain bike or you’re ready to push into more technical terrain, this weekend is for you. Click here to learn more and register.
- 2026 Bham Coffee Fest (September 26 | 8-11 a.m.): Spend your Saturday discovering great coffee, connecting with the community and supporting Lakeshore Foundation! Bham Coffee Fest brings together a curated mix of vendors to Pepper Place on September 26 for Birmingham’s newest signature event, hosted by Lakeshore’s Junior Board. Learn more.
- Alabama Disability Oral Health Advocacy Day (September 30 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.): Alabamians with disabilities face significant, often overlooked barriers to accessing quality oral health care. This event brings together advocates, providers, and policymakers to begin a dialogue about how we can work together to find real solutions, from policy to practice, for oral health care providers and the people with disabilities they serve throughout our state. - Roll, Roast & Romp (October 3-4): Join us this fall at Oak Mountain State Park for a free weekend of accessible camping and outdoor activities, designed for adults (19+) with physical disabilities and their families. Enjoy the full overnight camping experience, or join us for the day on Saturday! Activities will include fishing, archery, hiking and cycling, as well as camping activities in the evening. - Wheelchair Pickleball Intro Event (October 4 | 2-4 p.m.): Join us and City Walk BHAM at the City Walk Courts for some wheelchair pickleball! This will be an open clinic and open play event. Lakeshore will provide sport wheelchairs to those who need one. Cost $5; Registration required.
- Lakeshore Wheelchair Tennis Classic (October 23-25): The second annual Lakeshore Wheelchair Tennis Classic returns to the Lakeshore courts in October! This tournament is a United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned Level 3 wheelchair tennis open event. Athletes who wish to compete must register by October 9 at 11:59 p.m. CDT. The Lakeshore Wheelchair Tennis Classic is free and open for public spectators.
- Youth Spooktacular Trick or Treating (October 27 | 4-6 p.m.): Youth with a physical disability and their immediate families are invited to join us as we trick or treat throughout the fully accessible Lakeshore facility and grounds. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costume as they trick or treat along a route that will include Lakeshore departments and community organizations. - Youth Super Saturday (October 31): Super Saturdays are fun-filled days designed to introduce kids (aged 6 to 18) to adapted sports, games, and activities. Each event has a different theme. Participation is open to members and non-members with a qualifying condition, but each participant must be able to function independently in a group setting.
