Perspective New Athlete and Coach Sessions will be conducted via Zoom and will last for one hour. It is recommended that all perspective athletes and coaches attend one of these sessions to learn the basics and assess interest along with receiving a brief overview of classification for athletes.

Level 1 Sessions for New Athletes and Coaches will consist of one virtual session and one in-person session that will last three hours from 5 to 8 p.m. CT. Level 1 Sessions are required for any perspective athlete or coach beginning the domestic path toward making the team.

Mandatory Pathways for Athletes and Coaches
Athletes
- Perspective Athlete Training
- Level 1 Session
- Level 1 Hands-on Session
- Complete your medical diagnostic form (MDF) and sports data management system (SDMS) profile*
- Train towards next qualifying event in the U.S. (domestic pathway)
- Hit standards in your body weight class and compete internationally (international pathway)
*completion of SDMS dependent on time of year
Coaches
- Level 1 Session* must pass test with 90% score or better
- Level 1 Hands-on Session
- Beginner Coach Manual* must pass test with 90% score or better
- Level 2 Hands-on Session
- Start shadowing high-performance coaches
*must pass assessment with score of 90% or better.
