Championship Sunday Recap

The BlazeSports Jr. Hawks-Red won the varsity championship at the 2020 NWBA Southeastern Junior Division Wheelchair Basketball Conference Tournament at Lakeshore Foundation this weekend. The Jr. Hawks took an early lead and continued to build on it throughout the game. Good shooting and a solid transition game gave Atlanta a commanding 59-27 win. The prep championship game was much different, a close game all the way until the end between Charlotte and Atlanta. It was a close battle for much of the game with Atlanta staying just a few points back, but Charlotte was able to hold off the hawks and win the prep championship by the score of 27-21.

Earlier in the day, the Lakeshore sharks won third place in the prep division with a 37-10 victory over RCP from South Carolina. Lakeshore’s varsity team, the Lakers, also took third place by defeating the BlazeSports Jr. Hawks-White, 31-27. In today’s fifth place games, Mississippi defeated Charlotte 16-8 in the prep division and UAH beat Music City 56-43 in the varsity division.
