“I am so pleased to share with you Monday’s announcement from The World Games. As you know, Lakeshore Foundation been working with the local organizing committee for several years on the potential for adapted sports at The World Games. Today’s official confirmation of a form of wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby as two of the four invitational sports selected by the local organizing committee makes The World Games 2021 Birmingham the first ever Games inclusive of athletes with a disability. Inclusion is an incredible legacy for Birmingham and we are proud of Lakeshore’s leadership role in that coming to fruition. I want to thank the local organizing committee and The World Games leadership for their commitment to inclusion.  We will continue to keep you up to date as we more formal plans for the those sports are confirmed.” -Jeff Underwood, President Lakeshore Foundation
