Personal Profile:
Dickey has been a competitive shooter for seven years. He first made the U.S. national team in 2005. In December 2007, Dickey shot a perfect score of 600 to make the U.S. Paralympics Shooting Elite Team.

Dickey began shooting to provide physical rehabilitation, but quickly fell in love with the sport. “Representing my country, my family, my friends and the Lakeshore Foundation as an international shooter is a privilege,” Dickey said. Dickey now participates in the National Rifle Association Beeman Tour. Dickey, known as “Dead Eye Dickey,” is one of the nation’s top competitive shooters.

When not in training, Mike also enjoys fishing, flying radio-controlled airplanes and watching college football.

Major Achievements:

  • 2001: Rookie of the Year
  • Dickey has broken three perfect 200 scores shooting prone and three 200 scores kneeling. 
  • Dickey also holds the SH1 record and claimed nine NRA-Beeman matches.
  • 15 first-place finishes in his division

 

Air Rifle Competitions

In the air rifle competitions, competitors aim for a perfect score of 600 in each of the 60-shot competitions. 60 shots are taken from each of the prone, kneeling and standing positions. Including practice time, one and a half hours is given to shoot. Competitors receive 10 points for each bull’s eye.

.22-Caliber Matches
In .22-caliber matches, a perfect score is 1,200. In a 3x40 match, 40 shots are taken from each of the prone, kneeling and standing positions.  In a 60-shot prone competition, competitors shoot from 50-meters.
