  A Hero's Welcome 2009
A Hero's Welcome was held at Lakeshore Foundation September 24, 2009 to honor our injured military personnel and active duty military.
 
  2009 Operation ALPHA
Operation ALPHA was held August 6-9, 2009. Operation ALPHA is designed for servicemen and women who have suffered traumatic brain injury. Activities will include competitive sports, rock climbing, water skiing, kayaking, scuba diving, wakeboarding, mountain biking and cycling.
 
  2009 Paralympic Academy
On June 20th, thirty youth, ages 7 to 19, traveled from all over the Southeast to Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Ala. for Paralympic Academy. Participants were introduced to tennis and track & field and given an overview of all the Paralympic sports.
 
  2009 Operation Night Vision
Operation Night Vision on May 28-31, 2009 was a recreation and sports camp for military men and women who have recently served our country and have suffered significant vision loss or blindness.
 
  2009 U.S. Paralympic Military Sports Camp
The U.S. Paralympic Military Sports Camp took place at Lakeshore Foundation March 26-29, 2009. Military personnel who have sustained physical injuries were introduced to competitive sports opportunities offered at the Paralympic level through clinics and light competition led by Paralympic athletes and coaches. The program was not just about sports; it was also about attitude, camaraderie, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Activities included archery, basketball, shooting, swimming, track & field and more!
