BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Lakeshore Foundation and the Lakeshore Young Professionals (LYP) will host Lakeshore's Amazing Race presented by Balch and Bingham LLP on July 31, 2010. Modeled after the popular show, The Amazing Race, teams of four will be assembled which represent a variety of age groups and affiliations. Teams will "race" throughout Birmingham, completing interactive challenges and competing for the grand prize. "This is an amazing opportunity for members and friends of Lakeshore Foundation to experience a fun-filled day of competition," said Natalie Hausman-Weiss, Lakeshore Foundation's Director of Development. "We also believe that this event will provide an introduction to people who are not familiar with Lakeshore Foundation and the people we serve. Participants will get a first hand chance to enjoy some common and uncommon recreation activities that are offered at Lakeshore every day." Individual teams consist of family members, friends, co-workers or a combination. Corporate teams will also be represented. Lakeshore's Amazing Race will give teams the chance to challenge themselves mentally and physically while raising much needed support for Lakeshore Foundation. The race begins at Lakeshore Foundation in Homewood, Ala. at 8 a.m. and is expected to be over by 2 p.m. Lakeshore's Amazing Race presented by Balch & Bingham LLP is proudly supported by AT&T, Brookwood Medical Center, the Lakeshore Young Professionals and CBS 42.
