Wheelchair Basketball

Wheelchair basketball is open to youth and adults with an irreversible lower extremity disability, such as paralysis, amputation, radiological evidence of limb shortening, partial to full joint alkalosis or joint replacement, which consistently interferes with functional mobility.

Lakeshore Foundation offers four competitive wheelchair basketball teams, open to individuals with physical disabilities ages 8 years old and up.  There are three youth teams, the Lakeshore Sharks, open to youth ages 8-13; and the Lakeshore Lakers, open to youth ages 13-18.  The Lakeshore Storm team, open to men and women age 18 and up, provides competitive wheelchair basketball opportunities for adults interested in playing the sport.
