Lakeshore camps & events are for members and non-members with a physical disability or chronic health condition. Participants must be able to function independently in a group setting. To register, contact the staff member listed for each program.

Paralympic Experience – Age 8 to 18
April 21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Paralympic Experience is a day of learning and play focused on Paralympic sports and ideals. Participants receive entry-level instruction, skill development and have lots of fun. To register, email Meagan Rowe or call 205-313-7459.

Mini Super Saturday – Age 3 to 6
May 12: 9-11:30 a.m.
Super Saturday – Age 6 to 18
May 12: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Super and Mini Super Saturday is a fun-filled day designed to introduce kids to adapted sports, games and activities. Each child with a physical disability may invite one sibling or friend to attend. To register, email Lori Watkins or call 205-313-7429.

Camp Strive
June 15-17 & August 3-5
This family camp offers a weekend of outdoor activities including swimming, adapted water skiing, fishing and kayaking. Camp is held at Children’s Harbor in Lake Martin, AL. Due to its popularity, we have added a second Camp Strive August 3-5. To register, email Lori Watkins or call 205-313-7429.

Adventure Camp – Age 8 to 18
June 26-29, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Campers will enjoy indoor and outdoor sport and recreation activities during this brand new day camp. To register, email Meagan Rowe or call 205-313-7459.

JAWS Camp – Age 6 to 18
July 9-12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
JAWS Camp, which stands for Junior Ambulatory and Wheelchair Sports, is an adapted sports day camp. Campers are introduced to Paralympic and other adapted sports and instructed by Lakeshore staff and athletes with a physical disability. To register, email Meagan Rowe or call 205-313-7459.

Inclusion Camp – Age 6 to 18
July 23-26, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
This camp is for youth with a physical disability and their sibling or friend. Campers will participate in fun recreational activities including field trips to an outdoor park, local recreational venue or bowling alley. Camp concludes with a 1K Fun Run for campers and family members. To register, email Lori Watkins or call 205-313-7429.

Regions Climbing Wall
Tuesday, Wednesday: 3-5 p.m.
Open to all ages, youth through adult, multiple times each month from 3 to 5 p.m. Climbers must sign in by 4:30 p.m. Dates are listed at the climbing wall. For more information, email Kris King or call 205-313-7435.
