Spring/Summer 2017 Events and Camps:

 Mini Movers:
Monday and Wednesday 4 to 4:45 p.m.

(Age 3-6, must be in this age group at time of registration)
This playgroup introduces activities that improve socialization, strength, agility and endurance with a goal of improving overall fine and gross motor skills and an increase in physical activity. Participants will engage in a variety of activities that include scooter boards, parachute, dance, yoga, movement exploration, art, music and more. Siblings are welcome.  Fish out of Water:
Monday and Wednesday 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.

FRESH:
Tuesday and Thursday 5 to 6 p.m.

This land-based program promotes physical fitness through recreational activities such as relay races, team building activities, yoga, parachute, scooter boards, sports, cycling, climbing and more in a fun environment. Teen Training (T2):
Thursday 5 to 5:45 p.m.
(Age 13-19, must be in this age group at time of registration)
T2 is a teen workout class that is designed to include fitness as part of an active lifestyle. The class is led by a fitness specialist and includes a variety of exercise equipment and modalities, appropriate for each teen’s ability and experience. Paralympic Experience:
Saturday, April 8, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(Age 6-18) Participants will learn about the Paralympic sport of tennis. Super and Mini Super Saturday: May 13
Super Saturday: Age 6-18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mini Super Saturday: Age 3-6, 9 a.m. to Noon
Super and Mini Super Saturdays are fun-filled days designed to introduce kids to adapted sports, games and activities. Participation is open to members and non-members with a qualifying condition. Each participant must be able to function independently in a group setting and may invite one sibling or friend to attend. Weekly Tennis Clinic:
Tuesdays, April 11 through June 6, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Run/Roll Tennis Tournament:
Saturday, June 10
(Age 12-18) This doubles tennis tournament will be the culmination of the Weekly Tennis Clinics, but participation in the clinics is not required to enter the tournament. The tournament will feature doubles teams composed of a player who uses a wheelchair and a player who stands. Ossur Running and Mobility Clinic Presented by the Challenged Athletes Foundation:

CAMPS:

 Camp STRIVE:
Option one: Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18
Option two: Friday, August 4 through Sunday, August 6

(Families with children age 4 to 18) This weekend family camp takes place at Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin. Activities include swimming, adapted water skiing, boating, fishing, kayaking and arts and crafts. All families are responsible for their own transportation. Amputee Sports and Adventure Camp:
Tuesday, June 27 through Friday, June 30, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(Age 6 to 18) This camp is designed to encourage youth with an upper or lower limb amputation to learn what is possible through adapted sports and recreation. Camp activities include introduction to amputee sports, improved mobility and outdoor recreation adventure at a local park. JAWS Camp:
Monday, July 10 through Wednesday, July 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(Age 6 to 18) JAWS Camp, which stands for Junior Ambulatory and Wheelchair Sports, is an adapted sports day camp. Campers are introduced to Paralympic and other adapted sports and instructed by Lakeshore staff and athletes. Inclusion Camp:
Tuesday July 18 through Friday, 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
(Age 6 to 18) Campers will engage in recreational activities in an exciting camp atmosphere including field trips to an outdoor park, local recreational venue or bowling alley. This camp concludes with a 1K Fun Run for campers and family members. Campers with a physical disability are welcome to invite a sibling or friend to attend camp. Regions Climbing Wall:
Tuesday and Wednesday 3 to 5 p.m.
