  • Daily Classes

ABC’s of Balance
Monday: 1:30-2 p.m., Wednesday: 9:30-10 a.m.
Group Exercise Room 
An introduction to principles of balance with exercises focusing on body position and postural alignment through core (trunk/abdominal) strengthening, muscle balance and postural awareness. Exercises are done seated and standing.

Kranking®
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7-7:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday: 12:30-1:15 p.m.
Krankcycle Room 
An upper body rotational exercise class featuring stationary arm bikes. Participants work at their own intensities, and with a removable seat, the Krankcycle® is accessible to individuals who use a wheelchair or stand. Space is limited, and sign-up is available 30 minutes prior to each class at the fitness desk. Bring a water bottle and a towel because you are sure to sweat. All levels of fitness are welcome.

New Forest T’ai Chi
Tuesday, Thursday: 12-1 p.m.
Group Exercise Room 
Uses slow, gentle movements that are easy to learn and allow for creative, personal expression. Slow motion stepping patterns are combined with arm movements. The initial exercises and routines are very simple but become more complex as the participant gains strength, balance and mental focus. All levels of fitness are welcome.  

SilverSneakers® Classic
Tuesday, Thursday: 8-8:45 a.m.
Group Exercise Room
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support. All levels of fitness are welcome. 

Yoga
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 10:30-11:30 a.m. 
Monday, Wednesday: 5-6 p.m.
Thursday: 9-10 a.m.
Saturday: 10-11 a.m.
Group Exercise Room 
Traditional yoga poses are practiced to emphasize flexibility, balance, and strength that can bring the body into healthy alignment and complement activities of daily life. Class includes coordination of breath and movement, relaxation and mindfulness experiences. Explore and progress at your own pace. This class includes standing, seated and mat work. Ability to get up and down from the floor is recommended. 

Seated Yoga
Thursday: 10:30-11:15 a.m. 
Group Exercise Room 
This class is designed for anyone desiring to practice yoga while seated. Yoga can bring strength to weak areas of the body and soften the tight spots. Experience coordination of breath with movement, relaxation and mindfulness exercises. Explore and progress at your own pace. The class is seated. 

Zumba® Gold 
Tuesday: 10-11 a.m., Saturday: 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Group Exercise Room 
Consists of a series of easy-to-follow dance moves. The moves focus on improving balance, strength and flexibility, while raising your heart rate and improving cardiovascular fitness. Moves can be performed while standing or sitting. All levels of fitness are welcome. 

Zumba® Gold Seated
Tuesday: 11:15-11:45 a.m.
Group Exercise Room 
Similar to the Zumba® Gold class, but all movements are specifically designed to be preformed while sitting. 

Dance for Parkinson’s
Monday: 12-1 p.m.
Group Exercise Room
This class is offered through a cooperative agreement with Southern Danceworks and their instructors. Based on a model developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group, designed to build strength, improve coordination and gain flexibility, balance, control and confidence. Although developed for people with Parkinson’s, this class is open to all. The class begins sitting and progresses to standing and moving across the floor. A variety of dance techniques are utilized and no prior dance experience is necessary.
