Adult Aquatics Class Schedule


BEGINNER LEVEL CLASSES:

Range of Motion:
Monday through Friday 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Therapy pool, shallow
Move each joint of the body through exercises focused on strengthening and lengthening. Enjoy improved posture through balance, core and walking exercises.

Ai Chi:
Monday through Friday 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Therapy pool, shallow
This class is a combination of deep breathing and slow broad movements while standing in chest deep water. Nineteen postures, from simple hand movements to balancing the whole body, invite awareness, relaxation and tranquility.

Adult Learn to Swim:
Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Lap pool, uses shallow and deep water depending on comfort level with water
This class meets adults in the learning to swim process. From overcoming fear of the water to stroke refinement, Learn to Swim provides the knowledge, support and practice time for feeling confident in the water.

MS Aquatics:
Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Lap pool, 45 minutes in shallow and 15 minutes in deep
Focus on maintaining and improving gait, posture, flexibility and strength. Exercises target areas of the body that may need extra work while living with MS (e.g., hip flexors, quadriceps and core muscles of the abdomen and pelvis). The class also includes an aerobic element for cardiovascular conditioning.

Parkinson’s Aquatics:
Tuesday and Thursday 2 to 2:45 p.m.
Therapy pool, shallow
This class provides gentle and effective water exercises to maintain strength, endurance, flexibility, posture, gait and balance. Classes sometimes include games for fun and socialization.


BASIC LEVEL CLASSES:

Shallow Water Exercise:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.
Lap pool, shallow
Enjoy a total body workout while improving range of motion, muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and balance.

Healthy Back & Core: 
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2 to 3 p.m.
Therapy pool, shallow
Strengthen and stretch target areas of the body including core, hips, lower back and thighs. Then move to the deep water to strengthen core muscles while maintaining postural alignment.

Hydro Healing: 
Monday and Wednesday 8:30 to 9:15 a.m., 1 to 1:45 p.m. & 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
Friday 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. & 1 to 1:45 p.m.
Therapy pool, shallow
This class includes exercise for strength, flexibility, balance and gait.

Aquafit: 
Tuesday and Thursday 9 to 10 a.m.
Saturday 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Lap pool, 45 minutes shallow and 15 minutes deep
This class includes a warm up, range of motion exercises, strengthening and endurance exercises. Up to 20 minutes of low-to-moderate intensity activities are also included in this class.

Aqua Volleyball:
Tuesday and Thursday 1 to 2 p.m.
Lap Pool, shallow
This is a lively and interactive class for members to play volleyball with an inflatable beach ball. Enjoy the fun while working to maintain strength, endurance, flexibility, posture, gait and balance. All adult members are welcome.


ADVANCED CLASSES:
*Participants must be safe and independent in deep water.

Aqua Cardio:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Lap pool, 45 minutes shallow and 15 minutes deep
Challenge your coordination, balance and endurance. Class begins in the shallow end with a warm up, aerobic exercises, balance exercises and a cool down. Equipment is used to provide increased resistance to strengthen muscles.

Hydro Power:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
Lap pool, shallow and deep
Condition and challenge the cardiovascular and muscular systems with intense aerobic activity. During the deep water portion of class, a flotation device is used to maintain proper form and alignment.

Deep Water Sweat:
Tuesday, Thursday 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Lap pool, deep
This one-hour, high-intensity class in the deep end of the lap pool strengthens the body through endurance, core exercises and stretching. A flotation device is used to maintain proper form and alignment.
