Physical activity is the heart of Lakeshore Foundation. Within activity you can find information on aquatics, fitness, recreation and athletics for children, adults and those who have been injured in service to our nation.
Age 6 to 14. Land-based program focusing on specific functional skills such as balance, flexibility, strength, cardiovascular endurance, fine and gross motor skills and body awareness in a fun and encouraging environment. Contact Lori Watkins at 205-313-7429 or *protected email*.
Age 3 to 12. Based on the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program, all classes focus on basic water safety skills as well as developing the fundamentals of swimming in a fun environment. Siblings are welcome.
Goalball is for youth who are blind or visually impaired. In addition to weekly practice and fitness training, the goalball team competes in tournaments throughout the country.
Classic Yoga positions are adapted to meet the needs of the individual. Emphasis is placed on smooth, rhythmical breathing throughout the entire exercise program. Class includes restorative breathing exercises and ends with a relaxation technique. Explore and progress at your pace. Experience overall health benefits, increased flexibility, improved balance, and body awareness. All levels of fitness are welcome.

Lakeshore’s athletic program provides that essential network of services and support for athletes who have a wide range of physical disabilities.
Lakeshore offers youth and adult recreation programs for members and individuals with physical disability who are thinking about becoming a member.
