Day Two Recap

The final day of competition at the 2017 NWBA Southeastern Junior Division Conference Championship hosted by BMW of Birmingham featured great competition from both Prep and 10′ Varsity Divisions. In Prep play, the Jr. Hawks defeated the Hornets (teal) and Hornets (purple) were victorious over the Sharks to advance to the championship game. The matchup for third place belonged to the Sharks and Hornets (teal) with the Sharks claiming a 12-5 victory.

In 10′ Varsity Division play, the Music City Thunder earned their first tournament win against the ASN Red Wings 42-17 and the Lakers defeated the UAH Chargers to advance to the championship game. The Wheelcats and Hornets finished the tournament with solid wins over the Jr. Thunder and Chargers. The championship game was dominated by a fast and deep Jr. Hawks team, who won 72-23 over the Lakers.

Lakeshore Shark player Seth Horne was named to the Prep All Tournament Team and Heath Horne received the Prep Sportsmanship award. Lakeshore Laker, Tyler Tippins was named to the 10′ Varsity All Tournament Team. For photos and a replay of the championship games, visit our Facebook page.

Day One Recap

Day One of the 2017 NWBA Southeastern Junior Division Conference Championship hosted by BMW of Birmingham was full of close games and big wins in both the Varsity and Prep divisions.  Play opened on Saturday morning with wins for Atlanta’s and Lakeshore’s teams in both divisions.  The Jr. Blaze teams would go on to come out of day one undefeated and will be looking towards tomorrow’s championship games in their respective divisions.  The Lakeshore’s Lakers went 3-1 and will be back at 9:30 tomorrow as they work a longer path in hopes to contend for the title of SEC Junior Division Varsity Champion.  The Sharks, Lakeshore’s prep team went 1-2 on the day, they will be back at 8 a.m. facing the Charlotte Hornets (purple).
